Corra sound

Corra Sound is an eclectic upper voice ensemble drawing singers together from the South of England.  We have diverse musical backgrounds, training and life experiences but we love singing a very broad variety of music to a high standard, and it is our mission to highlight works written by women, for women.

Corra Sound launched in October 2018 at the inaugural Wavelength event and has performed at the MADhurst Festival (Sussex), the Elgar Festival (Worcester), with harpist Olivia Jageurs at the Ethelflaeda Festival (Romsey Abbey, Hampshire), with Emma Johnson in Surrey and at The Lamberhurst Festival (Kent), and with The Royal Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra (Boxgrove Priory, Sussex). We were privileged to be the guest ensemble at abcd’s annual convention in October 2024 at the University of Reading, where we sang with harpist Cecily Beer.

Following our recent Call for Scores, where we received 90 submissions from all over the world, Corra Sound was thrilled to host a second very successful Come and Sing event in Surrey. For all women who love to sing, it featured new and dynamic repertoire for upper voices by female composers. Do follow us on Facebook and Twitter @CorraSound.
